Namly Estate, Singapore
A duplex in the truest sense of the word; the Namly Crescent houses are a pair of identical townhouses that share a collective exterior form; mirrored, rather than identical. A bold, exaggerated interpretation of the butterfly roofs made famous by Krisel and the Alexanders in Palm Springs in the 60s, the duplex boasts multi-height ceilings, oscillating volumes within the broader space, floating glass bridge-cum-walkways across voids creating new geometries through negative space. The material palette remains local, highlighting local stone and treated local woods.
