Ocean Drive House

Sentosa, Singapore

Completed 2008

The Ocean Drive House represents a deviation from the firm's signature pavilion/compound style architecture. Here, the design focuses on building up, rather than outwards - a vertical Villa. The home maintains the essential feeling of centralized common spaces diffusing into private spaces, while remaining essentially open from an architectural standpoint. At first glance, structurally it resembles a chalet, something Scandanavian or vaguely alpine, with its plethora of naturally finished woods and high monopitch roof. There is an unmistakable Nordic formality imbued into its tropical underpinnings.
